Halloween Extravaganza!

I feel like Halloween lasted forever this year...maybe because we celebrated it for about two weeks straight!  We got some good use out of the kid's Halloween costumes this year.  We had fun though.  It started two weeks ago when we went with our friend Deanna and her son Nathan to Wild Life Not So Scary Park.  The kids got to go Trick-or-Treating and we took a train ride through the not so scary forest...although the not so scary part is very debatable!  The kids had fun and I don't think they were too scared from it!

Then last weekend we went to my brother's house and hung out.  His subdivision had a Halloween costume contest and some fun activities for the kids.  My niece Ada was Jessi from Toy Story and my niece Lola was the cutest, not so scarey at all, ghost!

This is the lake and clubhouse in the subdivision where my brother lives.  Addi really wanted to walk down to the beach.

Last Tuesday, the kids in Addi's dance class dressed up and had a little parade before class.  This was the only picture I got before my camera battery died.  Oops!

We have been so busy lately that we didn't make it to the pumpkin patch this year to pick our own pumpkins.  Last year was kind of a disaster when we went to the pumpkin patch.  After looking for pumpkins for about two whole minutes, Addi tripped over a pumpkin vine and twisted her wrist.  It was all over after that.  So we will try again next year when both girls are a little older.  So our pumpkins this year are courtesy of Hy-Vee.

Then on Saturday, our neighborhood had its annual parade and costume contest.  At the end of the parade they had a pinata and refreshments for the kids.

Then we ended our Halloween festivities by carving our family of pumpkins on Saturday and Trick-or-Treating on Monday.  Whewwwwww!  Hope everyone had a frightfully fun Halloween!  Now onto the next holiday....I have already started listening to Christmas music!!  ;)
